It's much easier to talk about a problem when you don't know anyone who is personally affected by it. That's why nothing ever really gets done. Those who care enough to help spend all their time doing so, deep in the trenches, while those who have the "power" to effect a change see the issue rather than the men. Don't get me wrong. I am no better. But I think it is really good to confront ourselves with grim realities to keep us from falling into either extremity of social consciousness. Thanks for reminding me today.
